Job Description

RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a GIS Technician to support our client in NY or NJ (hybrid – 10 days in-office per month, flexible scheduling) or full remote from NC, SC, KY, OH, FL, or TN. This is a full-time, 2-year contract position with the potential for extension or conversion to permanent hire. Equipment will be provided.

Overview of YOUR role as a GIS Technician
In this role, you will utilize GIS software and Excel to support mapping and spatial data analysis needs. You will create, update, and manage geospatial data, collaborating with team members to deliver accurate and visually clear GIS drawings for a variety of projects.

YOU are the ideal GIS Technician candidate if you have:
• Proficiency with any GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)
• Strong Excel skills for data analysis and management
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting GIS data clearly
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

YOU are the ideal GIS Technician candidate if you have:
• Proficiency with any GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)
• Strong Excel skills for data analysis and management
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

It’s a BONUS if you have:
• Advanced technical skills in GIS tools or programming
• A portfolio of GIS drawings (include with submittal)
• Experience supporting engineering, planning, or environmental projects
