Job Description

RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Construction Inspector in Kauai and Oahu, Hawaii 96701. This is a full-time contract hire field-based assignment with our client. 

Overview of YOUR role as a Construction Inspector

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to perform daily on-site observation and quality assurance for heavy highway construction projects in Kauai and Oahu. The role involves field testing, documentation, and coordination with contractors and owners to ensure construction work aligns with approved plans and specifications.

As a Construction Inspector YOU will:

• Physically perform field-required construction tests

• Prepare reports and coordinate progress meetings with the contractor and owner

• Review construction documents for compliance and completeness

• Maintain daily inspection logs and address discrepancies with project stakeholders

• Monitor contractor workmanship to ensure quality standards are met

YOU are the ideal Construction Inspector candidate if you have:

• Strong communication and documentation skills (MS Word or equivalent, internet proficiency)

• General knowledge of construction techniques with the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications

• Experience in heavy highway construction and inspection

• Demonstrated ability to mentor and transfer knowledge to Construction Observers and Material Testing Technicians

• A valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain an acceptable driving record

• Physical ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. and work safely in various field conditions including heights and confined spaces

It’s a BONUS if you have:

• WAQTC or SRDTT, ACI or CTT, CITP, and partnering certifications
