RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Resident Project Representative in Harvard, IL. This is a full-time contract-to-permanent hire field-based assignment with our client. 

Overview of YOUR role as a Resident Project Representative

Our client is seeking a Resident Project Representative with strong construction and field engineering experience to support infrastructure projects in Harvard, IL. This role will assist the Resident Engineer, lead field teams, monitor construction activities, and ensure all work aligns with project plans, specifications, and safety standards. The position may include work on IDOT, CDOT, and ISTHA projects.

As a Resident Project Representative YOU will:

• Perform daily on-site observation of construction work and ensure it complies with project plans and specifications

• Manage and mentor other Resident Project Representatives, Construction Observers, and Material Technicians

• Prepare detailed reports, coordinate progress meetings, manage shop drawing reviews, and certify contractor payrolls

• Monitor internal project budgets and ensure adherence to company safety protocols

• Resolve contractor questions, clarify plans and drawings, and maintain client communication

• Support corporate functions including marketing, business development, and internal operations

YOU are the ideal Resident Project Representative candidate if you have:

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering and/or construction management

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet-based tools

• General knowledge of construction techniques and ability to read/interpret plans and specifications

• Experience mentoring junior staff and collaborating on field-based teams

• Ability to support or step in for the Construction Manager/Resident Engineer as needed

• Willingness to represent the client’s values and participate in internal committees or industry organizations

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in various weather conditions, and navigate construction sites

It’s a BONUS if you have:

• Experience on IDOT, ISTHA, or CDOT projects

• Experience supervising or leading technical field teams

• Specialized knowledge in one or more of the following:

  • Traffic Control (AATSA)

  • Material Testing (soils, concrete)

  • Structural Welding

  • Dry Utilities

  • Water/Sanitary/Storm Sewer

  • Roadway Pavement or Bridge Construction
