RCS Staffing has an immediate need for an Electrical/Controls Designer in Chattanooga, TN. This is a full-time, Direct hire, Position with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation, and holidays.Overview of YOUR role as an Electrical/Controls Designer:
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical/I&C Designer to support the development of design change documentation for modifications at operating nuclear facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting skills, field experience, and a solid understanding of engineering principles in nuclear environments.
As an Electrical/Controls Designer YOU will:
• Understand and apply engineering design principles to create drawing deliverables in support of design packages
• Perform a broad range of Electrical/I&C design activities
• Drive assigned projects to completion and meet project deadlines
• Conduct self-checks to minimize rework and maintain accuracy
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to provide input on design change packages
• Travel to client facilities to gather field information and participate in design reviews and meetings
YOU are the ideal Electrical/Controls Designer candidate if you have:
• A High School diploma (Associate degree preferred)
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, ideally with nuclear modification work (DOE or commercial)
• Experience working with operating nuclear clients and vendors
• Proficiency in computer drafting applications such as MicroStation and AutoCAD
• Ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
It’s a BONUS if you have:
• An Associate degree or higher
• 3D modeling experience with certification
• Prior experience at commercial nuclear sites
• Familiarity with single-line diagrams, control schematics, connection drawings, conduit/cable tray routing, and schedules
• Design engineering experience in a matrixed organization
• Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and standard practices
• Strong communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in nuclear power plant environments
