Job Description

ProspectBlue has partnered with a manufacturing company in search of an FP&A Analyst to support financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across operations. Our client is looking for someone who can work closely with plant leadership, operations, supply chain, and finance to help analyze costs, improve visibility into plant performance, and support better business decisions.

This is a great opportunity for someone with manufacturing finance experience who enjoys working with both numbers and operations and wants to play a hands-on role in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for manufacturing operations
  • Partner with plant leadership and finance to align financial targets with operational plans
  • Monitor and analyze key cost drivers including labor, materials, overhead, and production volume
  • Review monthly results against budget, forecast, and prior periods and help explain key variances
  • Analyze COGS, gross margin, and manufacturing expenses to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Support standard costing and analyze manufacturing variances such as labor, material usage, scrap, yield, and absorption
  • Partner with supply chain and operations to evaluate inventory, working capital, productivity, and capacity utilization
  • Prepare monthly reporting, dashboards, and financial analysis for plant and corporate leadership
  • Build financial models and support analysis for capital projects, pricing, and operational initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, procurement, and supply chain to better understand performance drivers
  • Help improve reporting, automate processes where possible, and support data integrity across financial systems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2–5+ years of FP&A, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance experience
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience strongly preferred
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • ERP experience required; AX experience is a plus
  • BI/reporting tool experience is a plus
  • Understanding of cost accounting and manufacturing operations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
