Job Description

ProspectBlue is hiring a Compensation & Benefits Specialist to serve as the primary HR contact for employees and leaders in Newport News, VA!

This is a hands-on role with real ownership — you'll manage everything from benefits administration and leave compliance to compensation analysis and HRIS maintenance.

What you'll do

  • Administer benefits enrollments, terminations, life events, and COBRA
  • Manage leave of absence and FMLA for VA and PA operations
  • Support annual open enrollment and communicate benefit changes to employees
  • Maintain employee data in HRIS and 401k administration system
  • Partner with leaders on job descriptions and market-based compensation analysis
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and provider benefit regulations
  • Reconcile and process benefits billings; coordinate payroll deductions
  • Support HRIS transition to corporate systems and policies

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or equivalent — plus 3+ years in benefits and leave administration
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now required; UKG Ready experience a plus
  • Familiarity with self-billing, COBRA, and LOA administration
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
