Assistant Hub Manager

Overview

ProspectBlue is partnering with a leading LTL freight organization to identify an Assistant Hub Manager for its Charlotte, NC hub. This individual will play a critical role in supporting hub operations, leading teams across shifts, and helping scale a growing operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with deep LTL hub or breakbulk experience, strong operational instincts, and the flexibility to support a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily hub and breakbulk operations, ensuring freight moves safely, efficiently, and on time
• Assist in managing dock operations, staffing, and workflow across a high-volume facility
• Lead, train, and support hourly employees and frontline managers
• Partner with Hub Manager to identify root-cause issues and implement process improvements
• Utilize technology and reporting tools to track performance, productivity, and service levels
• Maintain flexibility to support operations as needed, including occasional Tuesday–Saturday coverage
• Uphold safety, compliance, and company standards across all operations

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in LTL, hub, or breakbulk operations
• Prior management or supervisory experience in a freight environment
• Strong understanding of hub operations (distinct from P&D operations)
• Tech-savvy with solid computer and systems proficiency
• Proven leadership style — consistent, fair, and calm under pressure
• Ability to tune out noise, identify root causes, and solve operational challenges
• Willingness to work extended hours as needed in a salaried, exempt role
• College degree not required
