Job Description
ProspectBlue has partnered with a reputable firm in Richmond VA and is seeking a Personal Injury Litigation Attorney. The ideal candidate guides personal injury clients through the legal process to obtain justice and compensation. This role manages cases from intake through resolution, handling all phases of pre-litigation, litigation, settlement, and appeal in collaboration with a skilled support team.
Key Responsibilities
Represent personal injury clients throughout all stages of litigation.
Manage case files from assignment through resolution.
Review case materials to assess injury severity and case value within 30 days.
Conduct regular file reviews and ensure compliance with all deadlines.
Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, demands, subpoenas, and related legal documents.
Communicate with clients, paralegals, expert witnesses, medical providers, and insurance adjusters.
Respond to client and internal communications within 48 hours.
Negotiate settlements and resolve claims on behalf of clients.
Review liens and expenses prior to settlement disbursement.
Appear on behalf of clients at hearings, mediations, depositions, trials, and other state and federal proceedings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
Knowledge of personal injury, tort law, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and medical terminology.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
Commitment to confidentiality and professional development.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active state bar membership and license to practice law.
Minimum of five years’ experience in personal injury litigation with trial experience.
Trial experience in medical malpractice or wrongful death preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with legal software.
Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment screening.
