Job Description
ProspectBlue has partnered with a reputable law firm in Richmond, VA and is seeking a Litigation Paralegal. The ideal candidate would support attorneys in the Personal Injury Department with matters filed or anticipated to be filed in Virginia Circuit and General District Courts. This role reports to the Department Supervisor and assists with cases from intake through resolution. This is a full time direct hire position. In office.
Responsibilities
Support all phases of litigation, including investigation, pleadings, discovery, trial, settlement, and appeals.
Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel regarding scheduling and deadlines.
Prepare and process litigation correspondence, pleadings, subpoenas, FOIAs, spoliation letters, and legal filings.
Coordinate service of process and schedule depositions, hearings, and other case-related appointments.
Draft medical chronologies, damages summaries, and assist with trial preparation.
Conduct legal research and provide general litigation support to attorneys.
Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience drafting pleadings for Virginia General District and Circuit Courts.
Strong legal research, communication, and case management skills.
Excellent organization and time-management abilities with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and perform well under pressure.
Qualifications
Minimum two years of litigation paralegal experience.
Associate’s degree or higher in a legal or related field preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and legal case management software.
Typing speed of at least 65 wpm.
Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
