Job Description

ProspectBlue is partnered with a leading Mid-Atlantic hospitality ownership, development, and management company to identify a dynamic Corporate Controller to join its executive leadership team. This organization operates a diverse portfolio of 70+ branded full-service, focused-service, and extended-stay hotels affiliated with premier hospitality brands including Hilton, Marriott, and IHG.

 

This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, offering strong visibility, strategic influence, and a clear advancement path toward VP of Accounting and/or CFO.

 

The Opportunity

The Corporate Controller will lead financial operations across the company’s multi-property hotel portfolio, driving accuracy, operational excellence, and strategic insight while developing and mentoring a strong accounting team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the corporate accounting team
  • Oversee financial reporting across a complex multi-property hotel portfolio
  • Drive performance analysis through budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Manage and coordinate all month-end close activities with efficiency and accountability

Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership and the CEO
  • Lead annual budgeting processes across the portfolio
  • Establish, refine, and enforce financial policies and internal controls
  • Identify, analyze, and communicate accounting and tax implications tied to business operations and initiatives

Operational Excellence

  • Deliver accurate financial results with strong attention to detail and compliance
  • Support special projects and growth initiatives
  • Apply deep hospitality industry expertise to improve financial operations and reporting processes

 

Qualifications:

 

Required

  • 5+ years of hospitality accounting experience with financial statement preparation and general ledger oversight
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI)

Preferred

  • CPA designation
  • Experience with HelloGM or similar hospitality accounting systems
