ProspectBlue is leading the search for a Senior Financial Planning Associate to join a highly regarded financial services firm in Richmond, VA.

About the Role

The Senior Financial Planning Associate will play a key role in supporting advisors and clients through the creation and presentation of comprehensive financial plans. This individual will partner closely with advisors to provide high-quality analysis, research, and planning support across a wide range of financial topics—from retirement and estate planning to education and insurance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze client inquiries on financial planning topics including education funding, estate and retirement planning, insurance, investments, and taxation.
• Prepare detailed financial plans and reports using planning tools such as MoneyGuidePro.
• Participate in client meetings and seminars, providing technical planning support.
• Collaborate with internal teams and assist with training colleagues on financial planning software.
• Develop and maintain financial planning resources and materials, including guides, templates, and educational content.
• Communicate legislative and market updates to advisors through internal messaging and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
• CFP® designation and prior experience in financial planning required.
• Experience with MoneyGuidePro or comparable financial planning software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Professional, service-oriented demeanor with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
