Job Description
The Finance Team Leader leads the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and compliance. This role oversees the finance and accounting team, ensuring accurate financial statements, regulatory adherence, and efficient internal processes.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to ensure top performance and support for internal departments.
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting packages.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and financial regulations, including timely and accurate filings.
- Supervise inventory management, including valuation and analysis of slow-moving/obsolete stock.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and collaborate with affiliated property management teams on capitalizations.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and support special projects, including tax credits, expansion planning, and operational assessments, marketing ROI, and margin analysis).
- Complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting
- Ensuring the company complies with all additional legal and regulatory requirements
- Assume any other duties that may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance.
- Industry experience in retail, consumer goods, or manufacturing; home furniture and décor a plus.
- Proven ability in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
- Expertise with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Experience using ERP systems such as NetSuite and POS systems related to retail.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of professionalism.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make high-impact decisions under pressure.
- Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, and flexible in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-10 years of hands-on accounting experience, including full-service and payment processing.
- Industry Knowledge: Retail furniture industry experience is a strong plus.
- Systems Proficiency: Skilled in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and mentor team members effectively.
- Analytical Strength: Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
