Job Description

ProspectBlue seeks an Accounting Clerk for a great client in Richmond, VA!

This full-time position supports the Finance team and plays a key role in maintaining efficient, accurate financial operations.

Responsibilities include data entry and assistance across several financial functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory invoice processing, revenue transaction processing, and more. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and effective communication with both internal team members and cross-functional departments.


Key Responsibilities

Data Entry & Transaction Support

  • Process invoices and receipts for parts and equipment, ensuring accuracy and timely input to support inventory and procurement.

  • Collaborate with team members to handle various transactions, including sales order processing, customer contracts, invoice reporting, and transaction research.

  • Assist in maintaining fixed asset records, including receiving installation files, setting up service items, and verifying information.

  • Support revenue functions by generating and distributing billing documents, pulling reporting data, and sending monthly statements.

  • Assist with accounts receivable tasks such as sending invoices, scanning and sorting documents, and managing paid invoice files.

  • Perform accounts payable functions, including invoice entry, check preparation, and handling incoming financial mail.

Compliance & Coordination

  • Uphold internal controls to protect financial data and ensure compliance with company policies.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

  • Provide support to teammates and contribute to broader departmental goals.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other administrative and finance-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred

  • 1–3 years of experience in a related role preferred

  • Strong skills in data entry, organization, and attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Familiarity with general ledger systems

  • Experience with ERP software such as Microsoft NAV or similar systems is a plus

  • Self-motivated with a proactive work approach

  • Strong written and electronic communication skills
