ProspectBlue is partnered with a nationally recognized, full-service medical real estate development, management, and investment firm in their search for a Portfolio Accountant. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic, high-performing team that supports asset management, property management, development, and acquisition services for the firm and its affiliates.

The Opportunity:

As a Portfolio Accountant, you’ll take ownership of a diverse real estate portfolio, contributing to all aspects of accounting and property management cycles. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a complex real estate portfolio with minimal oversight, demonstrating a high level of initiative and technical expertise.
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and accurate coding of transactions.
  • Partner closely with Property and Asset Managers to support payables, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Reconcile budgets, underwriting, and tenant ledgers; review lease data in Yardi for accuracy.
  • Prepare annual CAM reconciliations and perform detailed variance analysis on financial reports.
  • Maintain prepaid expense schedules and ensure timely expense recognition.
  • Assist with reforecasting and provide recommendations to improve budget accuracy.
  • Support internal projects including WIP account maintenance, credit card and expense report processing, and corporate financial reporting.
  • Create advanced financial reports using Microsoft Excel and contribute to strategic business development efforts.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience; real estate or public accounting preferred.
  • CPA or CPA track preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Yardi (or willingness to learn).
  • Ability to read and interpret lease agreements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive, “ownership” mentality.
