ProspectBlue is partnered with a local banking client seeking a Vice President, Marketplace Lending & Operations to lead and scale lending operations within a fast-paced fintech and banking environment for 4-month contract—with potential for full-time conversion. This individual will drive strategic growth, operational efficiency, and partnership management across their marketplace lending platform. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in lending operations, banking relationships, risk management, and fintech partnerships, with a hands-on approach to execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize marketplace lending operations, ensuring seamless execution and compliance with financial regulations.
• Develop and manage partnerships with banks, financial institutions, and fintech platforms to expand lending capabilities.
• Oversee the end-to-end loan lifecycle, including origination, underwriting, servicing, and collections.
• Collaborate with product, risk, and technology teams to enhance lending processes and improve customer experience.
• Drive operational efficiencies, leveraging automation, data analytics, and process improvements.
• Monitor and mitigate risk, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal credit policies.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to scale lending programs, optimize capital deployment, and drive profitability.
• Manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and execution.

Qualifications & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in marketplace lending, consumer or small business lending, fintech, or banking.
• Scrum Master certification (CSM) or Agile project management experience is a plus.
• Deep understanding of lending operations, credit risk, compliance, and financial regulations.
• Proven track record of scaling lending operations and managing multi-stakeholder partnerships.
• Strong leadership and strategic execution skills, with the ability to roll up sleeves and drive results.
• Experience working with agile teams, data-driven decision-making, and technology-driven lending platforms.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
