ProspectBlue is partnered with a leading investment firm focused on environmental services, infrastructure, and sustainability-driven initiatives seeking an experienced Senior Advisor to lead investment activities in the solid waste sector.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the competitive dynamics within the waste industry and a track record of success working at or with mid-sized companies. This role requires expertise in deal sourcing, due diligence, business strategy development, and governance through Board representation.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing & Relationship Building:

• Develop and maintain relationships with key industry players and stakeholders to identify potential investment opportunities.
• Build a strong network of contacts across the solid waste sector to support deal flow and market insights.

Due Diligence & Investment Analysis:

• Lead detailed financial, operational, and market assessments to evaluate potential investments.
• Analyze competitive positioning, regulatory factors, and market dynamics to inform investment strategies.

Business Strategy Development:

• Collaborate with portfolio company leadership to craft strategic growth plans and operational improvements.
• Identify opportunities for value creation through operational efficiencies, geographic expansion, and technology integration.

Governance & Board Participation:

• Serve as a trusted advisor on Boards of portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance and oversight.
• Ensure alignment between management teams and the firm’s value creation objectives.

Qualifications:

Industry Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the solid waste sector, with exposure to competitive markets and mid-sized organizations.
• Familiarity with specialty waste is a plus but not required.

Investment & Deal Experience:

• Proven track record in sourcing, evaluating, and executing successful investment deals.
• Strong background in due diligence, business planning, and post-investment strategic execution.

Leadership & Advisory Skills:

• Experience serving on Boards or in advisory capacities, with a focus on value creation and governance.

Strategic & Analytical Skills:

• Strong financial acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess complex business models and identify growth opportunities.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience competing against major players in the solid waste industry.
• Mid-sized company background preferred—avoiding backgrounds solely from small teams.
