ProspectBlue is partnered with a local community bank seeking a Commercial Banker to join its growing team. This position will ideally be based out of Richmond, Charlottesville, or Fredericksburg, VA.

Job Summary: As a Commercial Banker, you will play a key role in driving the growth of the bank’s commercial lending portfolio. You will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with commercial clients, assessing their financial needs, and providing tailored banking solutions. This position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional interpersonal abilities, and a deep understanding of the commercial lending landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, understanding their business needs and financial goals.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessment for loan applications, including financial statement analysis, cash flow projections, and collateral evaluation.
  • Loan Structuring: Develop appropriate loan structures and terms that meet clients' needs while aligning with the bank's risk appetite.
  • Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and community involvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including credit, underwriting, and operations, to ensure timely and effective loan processing and servicing.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape to provide insights and recommendations to clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all lending activities comply with relevant regulations and bank policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial banking or related financial services.
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending products and services.
  • Book of Business.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and credit analysis software.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance issues.
