About the Role

Pinnacle Partners is recruiting for a Production Technician in Indianapolis, IN. This is a hands-on fabrication and assembly position focused on building custom fluid and instrumentation systems from mechanical drawings, 3D models, and shop documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience using hand and power tools, and the ability to bend and route tubing, install fittings and instrumentation components, and assemble finished products to specification. This is a custom, low-volume environment where projects vary in size and complexity rather than repetitive production work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble custom fluid and instrumentation systems using 3D models, mechanical drawings, assembly prints, and shop documentation.
• Complete fabrication and assembly work according to project requirements and established work instructions.
• Bend, route, fit, and secure tubing to create finished assemblies.
• Install and connect pressure gauges, valves, regulators, fittings, connectors, hoses, switches, and other instrumentation components.
• Work with stainless steel tubing, instrumentation tubing, hydraulic lines, and pneumatic systems.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, measuring instruments, and other fabrication equipment to complete assembly operations.
• Use CNC tube bending equipment as needed.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and assembly prints.
• Measure, fit, align, and secure components to ensure proper fit, function, and overall assembly quality.
• Follow established work instructions and assembly procedures.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of completed assemblies.
• Conduct functional testing of mechanical assemblies to verify proper operation.
• Ensure assemblies meet required specifications for accuracy, form, fit, and function.
• Apply knowledge of compression fittings, valves, regulators, manifolds, gauges, and related fluid system components.
• Complete required documentation for finished assemblies.
• Obtain and maintain required company certifications.
• Support quality requirements and maintain high standards for finished products.
• Assist with preventative maintenance activities as needed.
• Assist with warehouse operations and material handling when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work on projects ranging from smaller one-day assemblies to larger projects that may take two to three weeks.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete custom customer projects accurately and efficiently.
• Adapt to a variety of custom projects rather than performing the same repetitive assembly each day.
• Support the team in meeting project requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach.
• Experience with fabrication and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to bend and route tubing and install fittings.
• Ability to install valves, hoses, gauges, switches, and other mechanical/fluid system components.
• Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and assembly documentation.
• Ability to read and understand a standard tape measure.
• Ability to measure, fit, align, and assemble components accurately.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and assembly procedures.
• Ability to route tubing and assemble finished systems.
• Ability to visually inspect completed products for quality and proper assembly.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality finished products.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new products, processes, and certifications.
• Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing/fabrication environment.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, generally around 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
• Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule based on project and customer requirements.

Preferred:

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Hydraulic assembly experience.
• Pneumatic assembly experience.
• Experience with stainless steel tubing.
• Experience with instrumentation tubing.
• Experience working with hydraulic lines or pneumatic systems.
• Experience with compression fittings.
• Experience with valves, regulators, manifolds, and gauges.
• Experience performing functional testing of mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
• Experience with quality inspection procedures.
• Experience with CNC tube bending equipment.
• Experience in custom equipment manufacturing.
• Experience with fluid systems.
• Experience with process instrumentation.
• Experience with precision mechanical assembly.
• Experience working from 3D models and detailed assembly drawings.
• Experience in a low-volume, custom manufacturing environment.
• Previous fabrication experience involving finished assemblies rather than general maintenance repair.
• Experience working with torque wrenches and precision measuring equipment.

• $50K–$75K base salary depending on experience and qualifications.
• Monday–Friday schedule, generally around 8:00 AM–4:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch.
