About the Role

Pinnacle Partners is recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager in Indianapolis, IN. This is a hands-on leadership position focused on procurement, inventory management, forecasting, supplier relationships, order fulfillment, and the continued development of supply chain processes within a growing manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate will have experience leading supply chain activities in a manufacturing environment, working with ERP systems and complex Excel spreadsheets, managing a small team, and driving process improvements while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead procurement, supply planning, forecasting, and inventory activities to support business objectives.
• Develop, maintain, and improve supply chain processes across the organization.
• Manage inventory processes and monitor inventory levels.
• Analyze demand trends, market conditions, and business performance to identify supply chain risks and opportunities.
• Monitor supplier performance and address issues as needed.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Manage purchasing, procurement, order fulfillment, and customer demand requirements.
• Monitor and implement KPIs related to inventory, forecasting, supplier performance, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
• Identify and resolve issues involving suppliers, warehouse operations, logistics, inventory, and internal teams.
• Support the transition, implementation, and improvement of ERP systems.
• Help move supply chain processes away from spreadsheet-based systems toward more efficient and scalable processes.
• Utilize Excel to analyze data, manage complex spreadsheets, and support supply chain decision-making.
• Work closely with internal teams to understand customer requirements and ensure supply chain needs are met.
• Lead and develop a small team supporting warehouse and procurement activities.
• Remain actively involved in day-to-day procurement, inventory, fulfillment, and warehouse-related activities.
• Serve as a working manager who is willing to get involved directly rather than simply delegating responsibilities.
• Help establish processes, documentation, and systems that can support continued organizational growth.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, inventory control, and supply chain performance.
• Support special projects and other operational initiatives as needed.
• Work closely with the Supply Chain Director and other members of the organization to implement necessary changes.
• Balance accountability and urgency with the collaborative, close-knit environment of a smaller organization.
• Help build the infrastructure and processes necessary to support significant future growth.
• Work onsite in Indianapolis and remain accessible to warehouse and production operations as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of supply chain, procurement, operations, or related experience.
• 2–3+ years of leadership or team management experience.
• Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing or leading procurement and supply chain activities.
• Hands-on experience with purchasing, inventory, order fulfillment, and supplier management.
• Experience with forecasting and demand planning.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to navigate complex spreadsheets and utilize tools such as pivot tables and lookups.
• Ability to analyze supply chain data and use information to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and supplier performance.
• Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers, vendors, customers, and internal teams.
• Comfortable working directly with warehouse and production operations.
• Ability to lead a small team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day responsibilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a growing organization where processes and systems are continuing to evolve.
• Comfortable driving change and implementing new processes, systems, and documentation.
• Ability to take initiative, ask questions, find answers, and follow through on issues.
• Ability to work effectively in a close-knit, family-oriented company environment.
• Comfortable working in a private equity-backed organization and supporting growth initiatives.
• Ability to work onsite in Indianapolis, IN.

Preferred:

• 7+ years of supply chain, procurement, operations, or manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience in a larger, well-established manufacturing organization.
• Warehousing or logistics experience.
• Experience implementing or transitioning ERP systems.
• Experience replacing manual or spreadsheet-based processes with more structured systems.
• Lean Manufacturing experience or certification.
• Six Sigma, CPIM, CSCP, or similar supply chain/operations credentials.
• Experience developing and implementing supply chain KPIs.
• Experience supporting significant organizational growth or operational transformation.
• Experience improving inventory management, warehouse processes, procurement systems, or supplier performance.
• Strong understanding of business profitability and EBITDA.
• Experience working in a smaller organization after gaining experience within a larger manufacturing environment.
• Ability to bring structure, processes, and best practices from a larger organization into a growing company.
• Experience balancing strategic supply chain responsibilities with hands-on operational execution.
