About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Software Developer III to join an established onsite development team supporting critical policy administration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take new applications and enhancements from concept through design, development, testing, documentation, and deployment
• Build and maintain mainframe applications that support a core policy administration system
• Help connect policy administration systems with upstream and downstream applications through integration and data-flow work
• Dig into processing issues, interpreting data to pinpoint root causes and solutions
• Partner with IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve application issues
• Offer technical direction and serve as a point of contact for business partners on current and future systems
• Take part in project teams, committees, and broader technology improvement efforts
• Adhere to established development, documentation, security, and IT standards
• Provide ongoing production support and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Manage your own workload independently, looping in leadership when needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• COBOL experience
• JCL experience
• Experience with software development lifecycle

Preferred:

• Experience with Policy Administration systems
• Experience with mainframe application integrations and data flows
• Production support experience
• Experience in financial services or insurance
