Title: Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)
Comp: $33–$34/hr
Location: Lafayette, IN
Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a Maintenance Technician for a direct hire position on 1st shift (Monday–Friday).
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, boiler, steam, cooling tower, and industrial systems
• Perform bearing installation, shaft installation, alignment, and coupler installation
• Rebuild and install gearboxes and fluid pumps
• Perform basic maintenance welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) as needed
• Thread and install black pipe, stainless steel pipe, and copper piping systems
• Install, align, and balance industrial motors and rotating equipment
• Support machine rigging, installation, startup, and shutdown activities
• Maintain lubrication schedules and preventive maintenance requirements
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems based on engineering principles
• Follow OSHA safety procedures for equipment startup and shutdown
• Support operators with safe equipment operation procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment performance records
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as assigned
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Support cross-functional maintenance and production teams as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• 2–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and piping systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Ability to obtain RCRA training certification
• Mobile equipment certification (forklifts, aerial lifts, etc.)
• Ability to work at heights and in elevated or confined spaces
• Must have own tools and maintain required tool set
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, boiler, steam, and piping systems
• Strong preventative maintenance experience
• Mechanical problem-solving aptitude
• Learning-oriented and adaptable to new equipment and processes
