Job Description

Job Title: Organizational Change Manager (OCM)

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Job Type: Contract

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Organizational Change Manager (OCM) to lead and support organizational change initiatives for multiple projects within a large utility company. This role will focus on coaching, guiding, and providing comprehensive OCM expertise to ensure successful change management, especially for team members and leaders unfamiliar with OCM principles.

The ideal candidate will have a deep background in OCM, not just project management, and be able to foster collaboration, provide tailored guidance, and support stakeholders throughout the process. The individual must be adept at navigating the culture of the client, while also ensuring key objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quickly gain an understanding of the client’s business, challenges, and desired outcomes.
  • Coach the client on OCM best practices, industry trends, and lessons learned, while designing and implementing a tailored OCM solution that delivers value and meets project needs.
  • Develop and execute change management strategies for each project, focusing on communication, sponsorship, employee engagement, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Partner with leadership and key stakeholders to ensure clarity around the nature, scope, and impact of changes, assessing the organization’s readiness for transformation.
  • Create a detailed change management plan with key milestones and timelines to monitor progress.
  • Track, monitor, and report on OCM progress, risks, and outcomes to the project leadership team, ensuring alignment with the overall project framework.
  • Design and implement a training strategy in collaboration with subject matter experts and vendors, ensuring effective delivery.
  • Ensure OCM deliverables are of high quality, completed on time, and within the project budget.
  • Integrate project-level OCM efforts with broader program-level OCM strategies as needed.
Key Project - Asset Serialization:
The Asset Serialization Project is focused on improving the tracking and lifecycle management of millions of pieces of equipment essential for delivering power. Various departments currently have different tracking systems and methods in place, which this project aims to standardize across the entire organization. The OCM will need to carefully manage the impact of this change on multiple departments, ensuring proper communication, alignment, and adoption of the new system.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years proven experience in Organizational Change Management within large, complex organizations.
  • Strong track record of coaching, mentoring, and guiding teams through change.
  • Ability to quickly understand business needs and design tailored OCM solutions.
  • Experience managing OCM for large-scale IT and infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
