Failure Analysis Engineer
Job Summary
Responsible for investigating product failures, identifying root causes, and developing corrective actions to improve product reliability, quality, and performance. Works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct failure analysis on electronic components and systems to identify defects and root causes.
- Use advanced diagnostic and laboratory techniques to evaluate product failures.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams on product and process improvements.
- Document findings, analysis procedures, recommendations, and corrective actions in detailed technical reports.
- Communicate technical findings to engineering teams, management, and other stakeholders.
- Support reliability testing, environmental stress screening, and product development activities.
- Maintain knowledge of current failure analysis technologies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 35+ years of failure analysis experience in electronics or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Experience with SEM, EDX, and XRF analytical techniques.
- Familiarity with reliability testing and environmental stress screening.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams.
