Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead Maintenance, Tool & Die, Production Engineering, and MRO/Parts Room operations within an automotive manufacturing environment. This position will focus on equipment reliability, team development, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and supporting overall production objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and development to Maintenance, Tool & Die, Production Engineering, and MRO teams.
  • Develop team skills, promote collaboration, and ensure departmental goals support overall production objectives.
  • Lead Hoshin planning, Kaizen, best-practice sharing, innovation, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Reduce equipment downtime through effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Develop and strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Lead new equipment and manufacturing projects, including design feedback, installation, testing, and successful production launches.
  • Drive Production Engineering improvements focused on efficiency, technology, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Establish effective systems for spare parts inventory, controls, availability, and cost management.
  • Partner across departments and facilities to identify and implement operational best practices.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to identify issues, support troubleshooting, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of upper-level management experience within engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, or a related function.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing technical and skilled teams.
  • Strong background in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of Production Engineering, Tool & Die, and MRO/spare parts operations.
  • Strong continuous improvement experience, including Kaizen and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Work Environment

This position operates in both an office and manufacturing/shop-floor environment and requires regular interaction with production operations. Candidates should be comfortable spending significant time on the production floor and working occasional weekends or non-production days when business needs require it.
