Fiber & Coax Splicer / Fiber Maintenance Technician
Location: Janesville to Oshkosh Corridor, Wisconsin
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Overtime Available)

We are seeking two experienced Telecom Splicers to support fiber construction and maintenance operations throughout the Janesville to Oshkosh corridor. This is an excellent opportunity for technicians who enjoy both production work and troubleshooting in the field while earning performance-based bonuses that can push total annual compensation into six figures.

What You'll Do
- Perform fusion splicing on FTTH and outside plant fiber networks.
- Troubleshoot, identify, and repair fiber network outages.
- Test fiber using OTDRs and other fiber testing equipment.
- Read and interpret splice diagrams, fiber maps, and construction prints.
- Perform maintenance and emergency restoration work.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours maintenance and outage response.
- Complete daily documentation and testing records.
- Maintain a safe work environment while following company and customer standards.
Fiber Experience Required
Candidates should have hands-on experience with:
- Fusion splicing
- OTDR testing and troubleshooting
- Fiber fault isolation and repair
- Loose Tube fiber
- Ribbon fiber
- Single Mode fiber
- FTTH fiber counts ranging from 48-144 fibers
- BAU/Backbone fiber counts ranging from 144-432 fibers
Coax Experience (Preferred)
Experience with the following is highly desired:
- Coax splicing
- TDR testing
- Node builds
- Troubleshooting HFC networks
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Fiber Splicer or Fiber Maintenance Technician
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Comfortable working overtime when needed
- Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift equipment and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Location
This position services customers throughout the Janesville to Oshkosh, WI corridor.
The workday begins and ends at our Janesville office, where technicians pick up and return their company vehicle each day.
