Are you a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working with cutting-edge security technologies? Our client is seeking a Security Service Technician to join a growing team responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing access control systems, surveillance cameras, low-voltage cabling, and related security technologies at customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, service, and maintain access control systems, surveillance cameras, and related security technologies.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and device performance issues across security and low-voltage systems.
- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic, and related infrastructure.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system testing to ensure optimal system performance.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving cameras, access control panels, card readers, locks, wireless devices, and network-connected security equipment.
- Read and interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and installation plans.
- Document service activities, equipment configurations, repairs, and customer interactions.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding project status, service needs, and system operation.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures while working on ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas.
- Collaborate with project teams, technicians, and management to successfully complete installations and service requests.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in physical security, low-voltage systems, electronics, IT support, telecommunications, alarm systems, or a related technical field.
- Experience working with access control systems and surveillance camera technologies.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms.
- Ability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds regularly.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and professionalism when interacting with customers.
