Job Description
A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee the hospital’s financial operations and support executive leadership in driving strategic and operational success. This role serves as a key financial leader responsible for budgeting, revenue cycle oversight, financial reporting, purchasing, and operational finance support across the facility.
This position requires a strong healthcare finance professional who can operate both strategically and hands-on within a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reimbursement, and revenue integrity
- Oversee financial reporting, cash management, operational analysis, and compliance activities
- Support patient accounting, purchasing, materials management, and related operational departments
- Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and process improvements to increase efficiency and safeguard organizational assets
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, financial initiatives, and capital expenditure planning
- Monitor organizational financial performance and provide recommendations to improve operational and financial outcomes
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, SOX requirements, and GAAP standards
- Build collaborative relationships with physicians, hospital leadership, operational teams, and external stakeholders
- Lead and support departmental teams while promoting accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 7+ years of progressive hospital finance leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- Healthcare finance and revenue cycle operations
- Financial reporting and budgeting
- GAAP and SOX compliance
- Supply chain and purchasing operations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis experience required
- Proven leadership experience within complex healthcare environments
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship management skills
- CPA, CMA, or related certification preferred
