Job Description
The Registration Specialist supports revenue cycle operations by performing accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and payment collection while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Register patients across all service types (outpatient, inpatient, emergency, observation).
- Verify and enter demographic and insurance information accurately in the EHR.
- Assign financial class and obtain required forms and signatures.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, deposits, and post payments accurately.
- Communicate with clinical departments to support patient care.
- Provide professional customer service to patients, families, and staff.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, regulatory, and facility standards.
- Support quality goals, month-end tasks, and internal controls.
- Assist with downtime procedures and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ year experience in healthcare registration or business office preferred.
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Basic medical terminology and cash handling experience preferred.
- Proficient with computers, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel).
