The role will support enterprise and operational network projects, including initiatives such as the deployment of private LTE infrastructure integrated with a robust private IP/MPLS network.

The engineer will ensure the network infrastructure is securely and optimally configured, enabling new projects to succeed while maintaining stability and reliability for existing enterprise and operational services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate project requirements and technical scope, collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and cybersecurity teams to develop end-to-end communications solutions.

  • Create comprehensive design and as-built documentation, including network architecture diagrams, configuration templates, scripts, capacity and compliance reports, and operational support materials.

  • Collaborate with network architects, data center, and support teams to ensure seamless WAN integration with enterprise network environments.

  • Coordinate firewall configurations and connectivity requirements by submitting and validating necessary change requests.

  • Develop and review Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Test Plans to support implementation and validation of network changes.

  • Serve as a senior technical resource during network implementations and upgrades, occasionally supporting after-hours or weekend work as required.

  • Assess and mitigate network vulnerabilities, recommending appropriate remediation actions to enhance security posture.

  • Provide technical expertise and assist with data or log collection in the event of a cyber incident impacting WAN infrastructure.

  • Conduct on-site evaluations at offices, data centers, tower sites, or remote locations to plan and execute network deployments.

  • Maintain and enhance network engineering standards and best practices, ensuring documentation and processes evolve with network changes.

  • Ensure all work complies with organizational policies, security standards, and operational guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.

  • Strong understanding of MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, L3VPNs, traffic engineering, and QoS.

  • Hands-on experience with Nokia 7750 and 7705 router platforms highly preferred.

  • Experience working with service providers and ISPs for leased circuits, dark fiber, cellular, and radio backhaul connectivity.

  • Familiarity with network security principles, including TCP/UDP-based protocols and their operation across firewalls.

  • Experience utilizing network automation and DevOps tools, including REST APIs and data manipulation for structured and unstructured datasets.

  • Proficient in vendor support case management and use of workflow or issue-tracking tools such as JIRA.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
