Senior RF Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior RF Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced transmit and receive systems. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in a system-focused environment, working across RF, digital, and analog design while collaborating closely with mechanical and software teams. The engineer will play a critical role in defining PCB and system requirements, ensuring technical excellence, and supporting testing and field deployments.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative solutions for next generation transmit and receive systems, balancing performance and cost efficiency.
  • Stay current on cutting-edge advancements in ultra-high power RF communications and apply this expertise to product development.
  • Evaluate feasibility of new business opportunities and support bid/proposal efforts.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and effectively communicate them to the project team.
  • Perform advanced subsystem and system-level design and analysis using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, RF PathWave, Ansys HFSS, SPICE, and FEKO.
  • Provide technical leadership on programs, mentoring engineers and working with Program and Project Managers to deliver on-time, high-quality solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all customers, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with critical suppliers to evaluate and validate solutions during proposal and project phases.
  • Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure system reliability.
  • Support system installations, integration, and troubleshooting as a technical subject-matter expert in collaboration with field service teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design practices, champion subsystem reuse, and foster cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong foundation in RF fundamentals, including impedance matching, distributed systems, resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth, and stability.
  • Experience with mixed-signal design, such as SoC/FPGAs, ADCs, DACs, digital waveform generators, converters, and subsystems.
  • Skilled in creating schematics, wire lists, and detailed documentation.
  • Hands-on lab experience with RF tuning and instruments.
  • Experience designing VLF/LF through X-Band transmitters and receivers.
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and mentor team members.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain security clearance within one year.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
