Job Description

Overview:
An innovative metal manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to specialize in powder metallurgy, with a focus on powder production, pressing, and sintering. This role requires hands-on experience in developing, optimizing, and sustaining processes from raw material handling through to final sintered components. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving process efficiency, improving product quality, and implementing continuous improvements across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize powder processing techniques, including pressing and sintering.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to compaction and sintering.
  • Analyze process data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to increase yield and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Document process parameters and maintain adherence to best manufacturing practices.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support the adoption of new technologies within powder metallurgy.
  • Perform additional engineering duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of industrial experience in powder metallurgy (powder production, pressing, and sintering).
  • Strong knowledge of powder compaction and sintering, including tooling design.
  • Familiarity with process control tools such as SPC, FMEA, and Six Sigma.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of industrial experience in powder manufacturing and processing.
  • Practical knowledge of process safety related to metal powder handling.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from operators to management, to implement effective solutions.
