Job Description
Summary
The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for designing and managing data architecture solutions across multiple environments, including Data Warehousing, ODS, Data Replication, ETL, and other data management initiatives. This expert-level role collaborates closely with business stakeholders, DBAs, ETL teams, and data management professionals to deliver solutions for complex data challenges. The position also oversees Data Governance and Master Data Management (MDM) strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to mentor others effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and guidelines for all aspects of Data Governance.
- Ensure consistent data decision-making and adherence to best practices.
- Maintain and update Data Standardization definitions, Data Dictionary, and Data Lineage to ensure accessibility.
- Collaborate with ETL, Replication, and DBA teams to establish best practices for data transformations, movement, and derivations.
- Partner with support teams to implement consistent, proactive support methodologies for data processes.
- Mentor Data Architects and Data Analysts to ensure adherence to best practices in database design and data management.
- Contribute to enterprise architectural solutions, including Data Warehouse, ODS, and ETL/Data Management initiatives.
- Collaborate with business and enterprise architecture teams to ensure optimal data architecture solutions.
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for MDM implementation.
- Lead the implementation of a Master Data Management tool.
- Define policies, procedures, and guidelines for MDM.
- Document architectural rules and design for MDM processes, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Data Architecture (OLTP, Data Warehouse, Big Data).
- 5+ years of Solution Architecture experience.
- 5+ years of Master Data Management (MDM) experience.
- 5+ years of Data Governance experience with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of data movement and processing, including Middleware, ETL, API, OLAP, and best practices for data tracking.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with a collaborative mindset.
