Job Description

Overview:
The OpenShift Engineer will be responsible for engineering, support, automation, and providing thought leadership for Platform-as-a-Service offerings. This role includes administering multiple OpenShift clusters, supporting application migrations, and assisting project teams with containerization and modernization efforts.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • OpenShift Administration

  • OpenShift Data Foundation

  • OpenShift Platform Plus

  • Advanced Cluster Management

  • Advanced Cluster Security

  • Ceph Administration

  • Extensive knowledge of Linux containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and containerized application/microservices architectures

  • Working knowledge of Java, JBoss, NGINX, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures

  • Experience migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads

  • Hands-on experience with automated deployment tools

  • Strong understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and practices

  • CI/CD experience with GitLab (or similar tools)

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly in written, oral, and digital formats

  • Working knowledge of networking (protocols, firewalls, load balancers, etc.)

  • Commitment to documenting processes, sharing knowledge, and mentoring teammates

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SSL certificates

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, tools, and practices (Kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.)

  • Awareness of industry standards and emerging technologies

  • Container and pod-level monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Dynatrace, QRadar)
