Job Title: Service Estimator

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Service Estimator to support a growing service operations team. This role is essential in evaluating customer service needs, preparing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring clear communication of project scopes, timelines, and pricing. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent customer service acumen, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to support operational efficiency and client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate incoming service requests and develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with technicians, project managers, and vendors to gather necessary pricing and scope details.
  • Prepare and present professional proposals and quotes to customers.
  • Maintain and update estimate templates, pricing databases, and documentation systems.
  • Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements and align expectations.
  • Assist scheduling/dispatch teams with job details and any special requirements.
  • Follow up on pending estimates and work with sales/service teams to close opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and industry regulations.
  • Conduct site visits or job walk-throughs as needed.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of estimating experience in service, construction, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical trades.
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, pricing, and quoting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); estimating software experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, or facility maintenance projects.
  • Familiarity with fast-paced service environments.
  • Knowledge of service dispatch platforms or field service management software.
