Job Description

Summary/Objective:
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing all daily aspects and resources necessary to complete our OSP projects across multiple customer projects. This person will need to communicate with our vendors, customers and neighborhood residents, as well as manage job documentation and deliverables.

  • Manage all assigned OSP projects, clients, partners in accordance with SPEQ Metrics.
  • Maintain all project related data through company software and defined processes.
  • Follow all company protocols for gathering necessary project data such as production schedules, daily logs, redlines, as-builts and other project deliverables.
  • Ensure Quality Control is done in a timely manner
  • Report any damages or incidents to company management with documentation.
  • Maintain clear timely communication with customers, subcontractors and management.
  • Create and maintain healthy relationships with vendors, customers, employees, and subcontractors.
  • Actively champion company culture and leadership goals when carrying out all responsibilities
  • Ensure safety evaluations and meetings are occurring.
  • Proactively communicate with Senior Management related to project progress.
  • Enamor clients with project delivery excellence.
  • Ensure safety regulations and construction standards are followed at all times.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of light and heavy equipment used in Outside Construction and Maintenance.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of telecommunications, Outside Plant, construction, Fiber Restoration, and splicing/testing
  • Requires excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience training contractors and subcontractors in technical and non-technical duties

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee contractors and subcontractors

Work Environment:
The position is 100% onsite and working conditions are normal for construction sites. Work hours will be dictated by the needs of the business for client-related project schedules; field working conditions to oversee project progress including nights and weekends. Travel daily to job sites within a local geographic area (50%). On occasion, for special projects, or to attend company approved meetings, travel outside the normal area will be required (10%).

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk long distances on uneven surfaces, climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, occasionally lift moderate weights (up to 50 pounds), and inspect various areas of a construction site in all weather conditions, which may involve reaching, crawling, and stretching; they also need good vision, hearing, and the ability to stand for extended periods. The employee is required to sit for extended periods of time while traveling to construction sites by the most efficient method available.

Up to 50%

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in OSP fiber optic construction in similar role.
  • Knowledgeable in fiber optic network testing equipment and procedures.
  • Familiar with the OSP construction standards, codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel frequently to various project sites.
