Job Description

Cyber Security Engineer 

  • Permanent/Direct Hire
  • Salary range is $100-130K, DOE
  • Location – Downtown Dallas
  • Hybrid (currently remote until late summer)
  • Main Security Engineer; final escalation for anything Cybersecurity related
  • Bachelor’s degree is required

 

Summary:

The Security Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Design, implement, and maintain security architecture, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), security information and event management (SIEM) systems, endpoint protection software, and other security tools to protect company data and networks.
  • Monitor and analyze security events, investigate potential threats, and respond to incidents quickly and efficiently.
  • Regularly conduct vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and risk assessments to identify weaknesses and implement appropriate fixes.
  • Ensure that security practices comply with industry standards, government regulations, and organizational policies (e.g., NIST, PCI, etc.).
  • Work closely with IT and development teams to ensure security best practices are followed in system architecture, software development, and network management.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, procedures, and enhancements.

 

Qualifications include, but not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Certification(s) are strongly desired: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Ethical hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+.
  • 5+ years of relevant Security/Cybersecurity Engineering experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat analysis, and network security, as well as experience in implementing security solutions across various platforms.
  • Knowledge of security standards, processes, policies, security tools and audit procedures.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Ability to relate system design and configuration to security functions.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Self-disciplined, self-starter, professional who can successfully bring projects to closure with minimum direction, guidance and oversight.
  • Experience in the property management or single-family housing industry a plus.
