Job Description

Industry leading manufacturer of off-road construction machinery is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.

This is a “hands on” position where you will be responsible for all aspects of product design, development, production, and on market product support. You will have the opportunity to see your designs being built and will work directly with shop personnel during fabrication, assembly and testing.

This position requires someone that has a solid background in mechanical design, hydraulic system design, and basic electronic controls.

Required qualifications - only applicants that have these qualifications will be considered for this position:

• Solid understanding of all aspects of SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills
• Experience with mechanical/mechanism design
• Experience with heavy steel design and fabrication methods
• No less than 5 years of real-world CAD drafting work experience

• Good interpersonal skills – ability to work with people of all skills/abilities/trades
• Excellent at problem solving
• Detail focused
• Experience with heavy truck/crane carrier design, suspension and axle loading
• Experience with diesel engine/transmission/torque converter function and matching
• Good understanding of the use and application of FEA
• Experience with hydraulic systems (cylinders, load sense pumps/valves, and motors)
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willing to take ownership of a product/design and see it through to completion
