What you will do:
Design and develop stamping tooling, including strip layouts, simulations, die construction, and press specifications
Manage tooling programs from sourcing to production readiness, including tracking progress and updating timelines
Develop and maintain Die and Gage standards, and improve current and new tooling sources
Coordinate between tooling suppliers and internal teams, and assist in procurement of production materials
Troubleshoot dies, manage tooling maintenance schedules, and use data-driven approaches to minimize costs and downtime
Facilitate communication across facilities, oversee new tool builds and repairs, and ensure compliance with standards
Provide engineering support for production dies, train floor personnel, and coordinate new machinery and tool deliveries
Evaluate product designs for manufacturability, design high-precision stamping dies, fixtures, and gages, and participate in design reviews and cost estimations
What you will need to be successful:
10+ years of experience in Tool and Die Engineering/Stamping tooling
Proficient in CAD, with experience in 2-D (AutoCAD, Solid Edge) and preferably 3-D (Solidworks, Inventor) design packages
Strong understanding of ANSI/ISO drawing standards, GD&T dimensioning, and knowledge of Wire EDM/CNC machining technologies
Familiarity with tool steels, commonly stamped metals (cold-rolled/stainless steels), and die sensors/vision inspection technology
Proven ability to read/interpret GD&T and engineering specifications, estimate stamping die costs, and manage timelines
Exceptional analytical skills, multi-tasking abilities, and experience working independently and in team environments
