Responsibilities:
- Perform engine machining operations, including cylinder boring, honing, decking, and line boring, according to established procedures and specifications
- Determine necessary repairs or modifications by inspecting, measuring, and evaluating engine components
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble engines, ensuring all components are in the proper working order
- Utilize precision tools and equipment to accurately measure and ensure parts meet performance and quality standards
- Collaborate with team members
- Troubleshoot engine issues and develop effective solutions
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and technologies to continuously improve skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in automotive mechanics is preferred
- Experience working as an engine machinist or in a related field
- Strong understanding of gas and/or diesel engines is preferred
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and accuracy in all tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Training Schedule:
- Train for approximately 6 months in order to learn the machinist job and gain experience
- After training is complete, you will earn a commission on your projects in addition to your hourly pay
