This role will provide the structure, visibility, and follow-through needed to align team plans from requirements and planning through implementation, launch readiness, and stabilization. The project manager will maintain an integrated view of milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and actions while functional and technical leads retain accountability for their teams' deliverables and technical decisions.
Responsibilities/skills:
- Develop and maintain an integrated project plan that connects milestones and
dependencies across participating teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional planning, status, risk, and decision-making
meetings; document outcomes, owners, and due dates.
- Track scope, schedule, risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and actions,
escalating blockers through established governance when needed.
- Prepare concise, accurate status updates and leadership reporting that
highlight progress, upcoming milestones, decisions, and delivery concerns.
- Coordinate alignment of business and technical requirements, implementation
sequencing, testing milestones, communications, training dependencies, and
launch criteria.
- Support change control by documenting proposed scope or schedule changes,
assessing cross-team impacts with accountable leads, and routing decisions to
the appropriate stakeholders.
- Promote timely decision-making by bringing together the right subject-matter
experts, clarifying options and impacts, and following actions through
completion.
- Coordinate launch-readiness reviews and a defined post-launch stabilization
and handoff period.
- Build productive relationships across business and technology teams and
maintain transparency without relying on formal authority
Qualifications:
- 58 years of experience managing cross-functional IT projects through
planning, implementation, launch, and stabilization.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple delivery teams and business
stakeholders in a complex enterprise environment.
- Retail, e-commerce, omnichannel fulfillment, or store-technology experience
strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methods,
including environments where teams use different approaches.
- Proven ability to manage integrated schedules, dependencies, RAID logs, scope
changes, action items, and launch-readiness activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to
create concise, executive-ready status reports and translate detailed team
updates into a clear project-level view.
- Effective facilitation, organization, negotiation, judgment, and
problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence without
formal authority.
- Experience using Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint for project planning,
collaboration, analysis, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub to monitor delivery progress,
milestones, dependencies, and work-item status.
- Experience using Power BI to develop or interpret project dashboards and
delivery reporting.
- PMP certification preferred.
