Job Description

We are seeking a versatile Human Resources Specialist to join a rapidly expanding manufacturing leader in Johnson City, TN. This role serves as a critical bridge between corporate HR strategy and local site operations, providing high-touch support to a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities/skills:

  • Manage recruitment for hourly positions and lead a comprehensive onboarding program that aligns new hires with the company’s mission, safety standards, and performance expectations
  • Employee Advocacy & Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for HR policies and benefits while partnering with department leadership to resolve conflicts and promote a positive, values-based workplace culture.
  • Operational Compliance: Ensure data integrity within HR systems and maintain strict adherence to federal and state employment laws, including job classification audits and data privacy regulations.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze key HR metrics—such as turnover, recruitment trends, and engagement levels—to provide actionable recommendations for process improvements to HR leadership.

  • Organizational Development: Support change management initiatives and corporate HR projects to help the facility scale efficiently during its current phase of rapid growth.

Qualifications:

  • Proven HR experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges of a production workforce.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) is a significant plus.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge of labor laws, compliance standards, and HR best practices.

  • Communication & Adaptability: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate a high-growth environment and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite to manage employee data and reporting accurately.
