Job Description

Job Title: Quality & Safety Manager (Manufacturing)

 Position Summary
We are a leading manufacturer of disposable food and beverage packaging products, including foam cups, classic red cups, and convenient take-out containers designed for everyday use. We are seeking a Quality & Safety Manager to lead initiatives that ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence while fostering a strong culture of safety across manufacturing operations.

 Key Responsibilities
Lead Quality and Safety Initiatives

  • Promote a culture focused on safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Maintain and manage certifications such as BRC, HACCP, and SFI.
  • Lead internal and external audits and maintain an “audit-ready” environment at all times.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to anticipate issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Improve performance in Safety, Quality, Service, Efficiency, and Employee Development.
  • Align quality objectives with manufacturing operations to enhance reliability and reduce operational costs.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

  • Analyze nonconformities, customer complaints, and performance trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain effective audit, inspection, and quality control processes.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in quality assurance, process improvement, and product trials.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, visual standards, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, third-party auditors, and customers to maintain quality standards and resolve issues.

 Qualifications
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in quality-related roles.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience demonstrating strong management skills.

Technical & Quality Expertise

  • Experience with quality systems and methodologies such as:
    • QMS, SPC, SQC, 5S, 8D, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Gage R&R, and DOE
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and product quality control.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data interpretation.
