Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to bring custom machine designs from concept to production
Designing and developing assemblies and detailed components using SolidWorks, and creating assembly and detail prints for release to purchasing and manufacturing
Partner with inside and outside manufacturing resources to develop cost-effective components, and work with purchased component vendors to specify parts and obtain initial quotes for cost and delivery
Collaborate with Controls Engineering to specify sensors, motors, and related components, and enter Bill of Material data into the ERP system
Support field service teams in resolving customer issues on deployed equipment, and develop a thorough understanding of company workflow and how Engineering integrates with all departments
Requirements
3-4+ years of experience in custom machine and/or automation design
Proficiency in SolidWorks is required, including part creation and assembly; experience with Sheetmetal and PDM is a plus
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as this role requires regular coordination across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and field service teams
