Position Overview

The Architect plays a critical role in the design and delivery of K–12 educational projects throughout Michigan. This individual will combine strong technical expertise, creative design capabilities, and client relationship management skills. The role involves active participation in ongoing projects while also supporting future business development initiatives.

 Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Design

• Lead and contribute to all phases of K–12 and higher education projects, from conceptual design through construction administration
• Develop innovative, functional, and compliant design solutions
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations

Regulatory Compliance

• Interpret and apply Michigan State Education Department (SED) requirements for public school projects
• Ensure full compliance with SED procedures, standards, and protocols
• Stay current on regulatory updates and evolving compliance requirements

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align design solutions with project vision and goals
• Provide clear and effective communication throughout all project phases

Business Development Support

• Participate in presentations and client meetings
• Identify new project opportunities and emerging client needs
• Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives

 Qualifications

• Licensed Architect in the State of Michigan
• 5–10 years of architectural experience, with emphasis on K–12 and higher education facilities
• Strong knowledge of Michigan State Education Department (SED) procedures for public schools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated client-facing experience
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively
