Instructional Designer

Summary:
The Instructional Designer develops engaging, effective learning experiences for employees across a variety of environments, including supply chain, operations, and corporate teams. Using instructional design principles and adult learning theory, this role creates high-quality, accessible, and inclusive training materials in multiple formats—such as instructor-led courses, eLearning modules, mobile learning, and job aids.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to conduct needs analyses, define performance goals, and identify learning gaps.

  • Plan and manage instructional design projects using the ADDIE framework and agile methods to meet deadlines.

  • Design and develop learning materials that support technical, functional, and compliance training.

  • Create eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline and Rise, including custom interactions and performance-based designs.

  • Apply accessibility and inclusion best practices throughout all course materials.

  • Evaluate existing training programs and redesign them to meet learner needs using adaptive and personalized learning approaches.

  • Develop blended learning solutions, including instructor-led materials, facilitator guides, eLearning, and job aids.

  • Collaborate with internal partners and external vendors to produce high-quality, cost-effective training resources.

  • Ensure learning content is properly maintained and updated in the organization’s learning management system (LMS).

  • Lead content reviews and Train-the-Trainer sessions to support successful delivery.

  • Incorporate change management principles into learning design to drive adoption and behavior change.

  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training solutions and recommend improvements.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion.

  • Occasional travel may be required (up to 25%).


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, instructional technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3–5 years of experience designing and developing corporate training in both classroom and digital formats.

  • Proficiency in Articulate Storyline and Rise.

  • Familiarity with tools like Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Audition, or Premiere Pro is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies (ADDIE), and current learning technologies.

  • Experience collaborating with business leaders, subject matter experts, and vendors to create impactful learning solutions.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal communication and collaboration skills.
