Job Title: Electrical Technician
Shift & Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing low-voltage electrical systems, performing sensor calibrations, supporting system installations, and assisting with light R&D work. The ideal candidate should have strong low-voltage troubleshooting skills, some soldering experience, and the ability to manage inventory and project specifications. Key Responsibilities:
System Development and Maintenance
- Troubleshoot low-voltage circuits and resolve issues such as shorts and wiring faults.
- Perform minor soldering work as needed for repairs and system maintenance.
- Calibrate and repair sensors to ensure their continued functionality and performance.
- Conduct system testing and validation to guarantee reliability and quality.
Customer Support
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support for electrical and automation issues, often via email or phone.
- Assist customers with troubleshooting, repairs, and other inquiries related to their electrical systems.
- Support customer system installations, with many installations done virtually or remotely.
Installation and Configuration
- Install new systems at customer locations, ensuring proper setup and integration. Many installations are now handled virtually, reducing the need for in-person travel.
- Work closely with customers to ensure successful deployment and integration of systems.
Design and Documentation
- Assist in creating specifications for electrical systems and manage project-related documentation.
- Help with sourcing and procuring electrical and mechanical components for systems.
- Manage and track inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and parts are available for projects and repairs.
R&D and Process Improvement
- Participate in light research and development (R&D) work to improve current systems and technologies.
- Help explore new technologies and solutions to enhance system performance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in electrical system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair (especially low-voltage systems).
- Experience with low-voltage troubleshooting, including circuit issues and shorts.
- Some soldering experience, including repairs and component modifications.
- Experience with sensor calibration and repairs.
- Basic experience with system installation and configuration
- No experience with ladder logic programming (PLC) required.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own tasks.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers via email and phone.
Work Environment:
- Office located in Holland, MI, USA.
- Up to 20% travel to customer locations, typically one trip per month for 3 days.
