Job Description
One Tech Engineering is searching for an E&C Engineer for a position located in Earth, Texas. The E&C Engineer will be providing electrical expertise, with a focus on evaluating project drawings and handling requests for information (RFIs) across multiple projects.
The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have 9+ years of electrical engineering experience with 2-3 years specifically in the renewable generation project space.
E&C Engineer Responsibilities: - Collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders to ensure clear outlining of requirements for submittals and RFIs.
- Evaluate drawings, studies, and technical analyses to confirm alignment with project specifications and requirements.
- Communicate any variances from company master specifications internally for engineer approvals.
- Provide on-site support during construction activities by addressing electrical engineering-related questions and troubleshooting issues.
- Clarify design or construction process details to team members during construction phases.
- Plan, review, and provide direct support during various stages of construction projects.
- Resolve RFIs and non-conformance requests effectively.
- Interpret and understand design drawings to manage construction compliance with design specifications.
- Manage RFI requests and ensure adherence to design and regulatory requirements.
- Support a multifunctional group including internal business units and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Facility Operations, Siting and Land Rights, and Environmental Teams.
- Collaborate with external entities including County and State Agencies and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
- Assist in obtaining local and state permits for large construction projects.
- Work closely with EPC contractors, project managers, construction field teams, construction managers, and construction/electrical inspectors.
- Coordinate with Project Controls staff regarding cost and scheduling.
Requirements of the E&C Engineer:
- 9+ years of electrical engineering experience with 2-3 years specifically in the renewable generation project space (construction or engineering design).
- Experience working with utilities or design firms on renewable technologies
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited school or strong/commensurate experience.
- Knowledge of/familiarity with NCRs, RFIs, and the ability to understand and manage the scope of a contract.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong analytical skills.
- Professional Engineering license, or Engineering in Training/certification is strongly preferred.
