Job Description
One Tech Engineering is searching for a Project Manager Assistant for a position located in Southfield, Michigan. The Project Manager Assistant will support a variety of EPC projects ranging amongst overhead transmission and air-insulated substations and switchyards.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in construction, construction management, engineering, or a related field, and 6 years relevant construction experience.
Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.
Project Manager Assistant Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate multiple stakeholders throughout all phases of the project.
- Adapt to changing project conditions and lead the team in identifying and implementing solutions.
- Follow and enforce client processes and procedures related to: budget authorizations and management, scope awards, outage coordination, and labor utilization.
- Coordinate design efforts and participate in design constructability reviews.
- Support field construction activities and ensure alignment with project plans.
- Prepare and issue RFPs for materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals, assist with onboarding, and oversee coordination.
- Travel to project sites across the Upper Midwest to support on-site project execution.
Requirements of the Project Manager Assistant:- Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field and 6 years of substation/utility electrical experience.
- Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
- Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle large volumes of work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Multiple years of experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, transportation, or water is preferred.
- A basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Must be able to meet the company's driving requirements.
