Job Description

One Tech Engineering is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer for a position located in Stillwater, Minnesota. The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the structural engineering efforts for complex projects from concept through completion, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across all project stages.

The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, and 5 years of relevant experience.

Senior Structural Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level technical expertise and mentorship to other engineers, while coordinating cross-functional activities to meet business objectives.
  • Lead and oversee design, analysis, and detailing of structural systems for material handling and storage equipment.
  • Perform and review structural calculations, code compliance checks, and detailed analysis using applicable state and federal codes.
  • Sign and seal engineering documents as a licensed Professional Engineer in Minnesota and/or Wisconsin.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including Application Engineers, Project Managers, and Fabrication.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Engage in scope development, estimation, and planning during the proposal phase.
  • Identify and resolve technical and project risks proactively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and deliverables throughout project lifecycle.
  • Support and ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Design Engineers in our company.
  • Conduct all your activities within the guidelines of all company policies, procedures, and work rules.

Requirements of the Senior Structural Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in structural design and analysis, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Minnesota and/or Wisconsin is required.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software (Inventor and/or Tekla preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of structural codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI).
  • Expertise in stress analysis, welding practices, and structural steel/machine design.
  • Strong leadership and project management experience.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and responsive to project timelines and deadlines.
