Maintenance Technician
Shift: 2nd Shift Candidates MUST be available to work 2nd shift
Position Overview
Our client is a growing manufacturer of advanced composite utility poles designed to provide stronger, longer-lasting, and more sustainable solutions for energy infrastructure.
We are seeking hands-on Maintenance Technicians to support the safe and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment. This role will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, complete equipment repairs and rebuilds, and help minimize production downtime.
This is a 2nd shift position. Candidates must be available to work the assigned 2nd shift schedule and overtime as needed.
Technician level will be determined based on demonstrated skills, technical knowledge, certifications, and years of experience within the company's Maintenance Progression System.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing and facility equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues
- Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain, rebuild, and repair pumps, drive systems, compressors, piping, valves, and related mechanical equipment
- Support equipment installations, rebuilds, upgrades, and overhauls
- Perform pipe installation and maintenance, including threaded and grooved connections
- Execute lubrication routes and preventive maintenance programs
- Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and repair work as needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and precision measurement instruments safely
- Interpret technical documentation, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- Operate forklifts, tuggers, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment as applicable
- Follow proper rigging, lifting, and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime
- Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor and support junior technicians as experience level progresses
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Maintenance Technician Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, welding, hydraulics, or a related field preferred
- Hands-on industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
- Experience with pumps, drive systems, compressors, piping, valves, and lubrication systems
- Ability to perform welding, fabrication, and mechanical repair work
- Proficiency with shop tools, power tools, and measurement equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance documentation
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and equipment reliability practices
- Overhead crane certification required or ability to obtain, as applicable
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be available to work 2nd shift and overtime as needed
